and unlock the joy of learning
I provide face-to-face weekly tuition from my cabin classroom in either
small groups or personalised, bespoke 1:1 sessions.
- Developing a child's confidence in a subject area is key to success and
lessons are tailored to meet the needs of individual children and boost
their self-esteem.
Swale and Medway tuition for primary aged children: Home education, 11+, SATs, English, Maths and more.....
About me:
Hi, my name is Vanessa, and I am a Qualified Primary
Teacher with over 23 years of experience in teaching
children in the local area. I hold a BA (QTS) degree in
Education and have an enhanced DBS, as well as
training in Safeguarding.
I am a dedicated and compassionate tutor, committed
to supporting children in reaching their full potential.
Whether it is preparing for life skills with Home
Education, the 11+, Year 6 SATs, or meeting 'expected'
standards; I strive to instil a love of learning that lasts
a lifetime. Rather than focusing on teaching to the test,
I believe in taking a holistic approach to education; the
child is the centre of what I do. My aim is to provide a
safe environment where students can make mistakes,
develop a growth mindset, and feel proud of their
achievements.
The Value of tuition -
Why have a tutor?
Improving
academic
- performance
encouraging a
- love of learning
Preparing for
future
- challenges
filling gaps in
- learning
Building
- confidence
- Tutoring can help identify and fill any gaps in a child’s understanding of a subject, which can prevent future problems from developing.
- Tutoring allows for individual attention and instruction, which can be especially beneficial for those who struggle in a classroom setting.
- Children who receive tutoring feel more confident and capable in their abilities, which can help boost their self-esteem and motivation.
- Tutoring helps develop essential skills, such as problem-solving and critical thinking, that will serve them well in the future, both academically and in their personal and professional lives.
- Tutoring can help children learn the topics of the curriculum better, and reinforce what they are learning in school, leading to improved assessments and test scores.

Sessions will be modelled around how your child learns best and your family
philosophy about education. This can be in a topic format or individual
subjects. All my lessons will be based on life skills and led by your child’s
natural curiosity and pace of learning.
Sessions take place in my garden cabin, which is a comfortable, unique and
welcoming environment; very different to a school classroom or hall! In the
summer we have sessions in my very colourful garden, amongst the sounds of
nature.
Sessions can be flexible; booked individually or in blocks. I am available for 1:1
sessions and groups sessions for up to 6 children. £38 for a 1:1 session or £22
for a group lesson (with more than 3 children this group rate will lower).
Please contact me to discuss how I can support you on your child’s learning
journey.
